Tae-Bo Impact [VHS]

Amazon.com Billy Blanks created the original TaeBo, which spawned the cardio kickboxing trend. Now Blanks is back with a two-tape set that presents his full-contact impact workout. This means that you're not just punching and kicking the air--you're using a kickboxing bag (like a long punching bag on a base, obtainable from the TaeBo Web site). This is an energetic, challenging workout and a well-produced video. Blanks motivates and gives instructions, with plenty of technique, while another class member cues the moves and counts the reps--very effective. The music is rousing, and the class members are so fit you'll just want to stare at them. Tape 1 gives a 30-minute introduction, which is anything but easy. Blanks frequently stops the workout to teach the technique of a move, then you drill the move over and over, first without the bag, then with it. Tape 2 goes faster, presuming that you've already mastered Tape 1, and includes more moves. Blanks is an excellent instructor, clear and motivating.
