In Part One, Nuechterlein writes about his German immigrant ancestors who came to America in 1845, settled in Frankenmuth, Michigan, and founded successful family businesses. In Part Two, Nuechterlein describes growing up in his small Mid-Western town in the 1950s and 1960s and writes about his 40 year long career as a federal prosecutor and federal trial judge. As a federal prosecutor Nuechterlein was involved in major national and international investigations involving fraud, drugs, public corruption, and wildlife prosecutions.
