Robert McAfee Brown was a master at turning sometimes abstract and scholarly abstruse theological points and turning them into plain English, both as explanations and discussion topics. In this book, he tackles Bible Study itself. In his preface, he's careful to caution against taking any book about the Bible -- including this one -- as a substitute for reading the Bible itself, but he does offer context and a solid primer for approaching its study. A solid resource for those beginning to study the scripture, as well as those who want to return to basics periodically.
